Key Responsibilities

Summary of role
The Director, Product & Innovation Communications is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering Sage's integrated communications strategy across product, technology, AI, innovation and customer priorities. Working closely with senior Product and Technology leaders and Brand & Corporate Affairs, you'll translate Sage's strategy into clear, compelling narratives that demonstrate customer value and strengthen Sage's reputation internally and externally.

What I will be doing
You'll lead the integrated communications strategy across Sage's product and innovation agenda, creating a clear story around what Sage is building, why it matters and the value it creates for customers. You'll provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders, using colleague, customer, media, analyst and market insight to inform decisions and identify opportunities and potential risks.
You'll build understanding and advocacy internally while strengthening Sage's external reputation through media relations, thought leadership, analyst engagement and compelling customer stories. Working across Brand, Marketing, Public Affairs, Social and Events, you'll identify key moments where integrated communications can create the greatest impact.
You'll also lead and develop a multidisciplinary, geographically dispersed team, setting high standards for strategy, creativity and execution. Using data, insight and AI, you'll continually improve how the team prioritises its work and focuses on the activity that creates the greatest value for Sage.

What we are looking for
We're looking for an experienced communications leader with a strong background in product, technology, corporate or integrated communications within a large, complex organisation. You'll be confident advising senior executives, bringing strong commercial judgement and the ability to constructively challenge and influence decisions.
You'll be skilled at translating complex product and technology strategies into credible, engaging narratives for different audiences, with a strong understanding of how customer outcomes and evidence build reputation over time.
Strong people leadership is essential, with experience bringing together communications specialists across different disciplines and geographies. Experience within global technology, SaaS, AI or a listed organisation would be highly valuable.
