Working on behalf of our client MPS, supporting a workforce of circa 85,000 employees across three payrolls and two pensioner payrolls, you'll play an important role in ensuring colleagues are paid accurately and on time. You'll be part of a supportive culture where colleagues share knowledge, help each other out and work together to provide a great service to our customers.

This is a full time hybrid role, with Newport as your base, and you'll be in the office twice per week on Tuesday and Wednesday and working from home the rest..

What you'll be doing:
  • Delivering accurate weekly and monthly payrolls within agreed deadlines and in line with legislation, terms and conditions, audit requirements and service level agreements.
  • Investigating and resolving complex pay queries, ensuring customers understand changes that affect their pay.
  • Processing payroll transactions including employment and personal changes, statutory payments, pension contributions, ad hoc payments and deductions, and termination payments.
  • Validating temporary and permanent payroll changes, completing underpayment and overpayment adjustments, and maintaining accurate payroll records.
  • Processing legislative and statutory payroll documentation, including tax, pension and payroll-related notifications.
  • Supporting payroll outputs, payslip production, customer correspondence and continuous improvement activities across payroll operations.

What you'll bring:
  • Excellent attention to detail and high-quality data input skills.
  • Experience investigating and resolving complex pay queries.
  • Understanding of Pay As You Earn (PAYE) tax and National Insurance processes.
  • Experience of accurate data entry and validation of financial information.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond positively to changing demands.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships and work effectively as part of a team.

Salary: £26298 per annum.
