Gas Engineer

Banbury

£44,347 - £46,681 per year

40 hours per week - Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 16.30

We have an opportunity for a Gas Engineer to join our Midlands/Cherwell Gas Team. Working within a team of 5, in this role you will carry out Gas Installation works on a multitude of different boilers and systems including Y&S plans, Combi swaps, conversions and Unvented cylinder installations. You will be working with an apprentice and, depending on workload, you may be required to carry out service & breakdown duties.

The role of Gas Engineer will include:
  • Carrying out fault fixing, maintenance, installation duties and commissioning of gas central heating systems, in accordance with contract and service specifications
  • Providing accurate and timely information on progress and advice that is easily understood by the customer and ensure accurate daily work records are completed
  • Responding positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations in accordance with contract and service specifications
  • Resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed, in line with agreed processes and within contract and service specifications
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and stocks are replenished as needed, in accordance with the agreed requisition procedures and budgets

Skills and experiences:
  • To ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, CPA1, HTR1, Unvented - G3 Certificate, and Water Regulations (WRAS), or currently undertaking the qualification. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted.
  • Proven experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Working knowledge of the installation, servicing and maintenance of gas heating systems
  • Ability to use and update computerised systems (including PDA) for work scheduling
  • Recent experience of undertaking a similar role
  • This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
