Parent Network at Sanctuary
Sanctuary is committed to supporting expectant parents and parents with children to obtain a good work-life balance. Our employee-led Parent Network supports our colleagues at all stages of the parenting journey. Whether you're a dad, a mum, a guardian, or want to be, the Parent Network provides a channel to share experiences, guidance and just get some support if and when you need it.
The network’s mission is three-fold:
- To provide support and guidance for colleagues on any aspect of life as a working parent
- To raise awareness of the challenges faced by working parents across the organisation
- To give people a voice, and advocate for change to help Sanctuary be the inclusive and diverse employer it wants to be.
One of its key focus areas has been working with our HR department to improve policies for the benefit of colleagues. The network has played a key role in the creation of a Family Responsibilities Procedure which includes specific support for those undertaking IVF and recognition of the impact of baby loss - parents are now entitled to five days compassionate leave for a loss at any stage of pregnancy.
The network is constantly evolving - launching our Buddy Directory, improving our Teams channel and intranet pages, sharing resources and holding events to spread awareness across our whole organisation.
