Celebrating our cultural diversity at Sanctuary

Race, Ethnicity & Heritage

We’re proud to have colleagues and customers from many different cultures.

The image shows a man smiling broadly at the camera. He is wearing a colourful traditional West African cap, commonly known as a "fila" or Yoruba cap, featuring stripes of orange, blue, black and white. He is also wearing a grey traditional top that appears to be a dashiki or similar West African garment with vertical pleat detailing on the chest. The setting looks like an indoor social gathering or event, with several people visible but out of focus in the background.

To mark Cultural Diversity Day 2026, we came together for a day of celebrations across our organisation, led by our Race Equality Network.

We held events in our Worcester and London offices, where colleagues and customers celebrated with delicious food, music from around the world, dancing, sharing of cultural skills and much more.

To mark the fifth anniversary of our Cultural Diversity Day celebrations at Sanctuary, we also held a special ‘In Conversation With’ event featuring our Group Board member, Olu Odeniyi.

Olu sat down with our Race Equality Network co-chairs Lindi Urubusi and Ashley Innis to discuss his own life and career, as well as the importance of creating cultures that are truly inclusive to all.
