Job description

Are you looking to build your consulting career while working on complex, high-impact programmes within the defence sector?

Our Aerospace, Defence and Security Consulting team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Consultant to join us.

This role is ideal if you already have a strong defence background, whether from industry or service in the Armed Forces, and are keen to apply your expertise in a consulting environment.

You'll work across a wide range of defence and secure clients, helping to solve operational and technology challenges that really matter. This is a generalist consulting role, giving you the opportunity to work across different projects, environments and problem spaces, while continuing to build your capability.

We offer great career progression opportunities, flexible benefits to suit your needs, and training and development to support your growth. This role includes hybrid working, with an expectation to be onsite 2-3 days per week in London, Bristol, Corsham or other client locations across the UK as required.

What you'll be doing:
  • Supporting the delivery of consulting engagements across defence and security clients.
  • Working with clients to understand operational and technical challenges and shaping practical solutions.
  • Applying your defence experience to support digital, communications, networking or cyber-related programmes.
  • Contributing to analysis, problem-solving and delivery across a range of project environments.
  • Building strong client relationships and working collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Supporting wider consulting activities, including knowledge sharing and business development.

What you'll bring:
  • A strong background within the defence sector or service in the Armed Forces.
  • Experience working in or alongside defence environments such as communications, networks, digital or cyber security.
  • A generalist mindset, with the ability to work across different types of projects and challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply structured thinking.
  • Confidence working with stakeholders and adapting to different client environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for producing clear, structured outputs.

It would be great if you had:
  • Previous consulting experience or exposure to client-facing project work.
  • Experience delivering or supporting transformation, operational or technology change.
  • Knowledge of defence digital capabilities, CIS or secure environments.
  • Existing Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility to obtain it, with willingness to achieve DV clearance.
  • Experience contributing to bids, proposals or continuous improvement activity.
  • An interest in developing broader consulting skills and progressing your career.

If you're interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.
Location: Commutable to Bristol, London or Corsham, with UK travel required.
Security Clearance Level: SC and eligible to obtain Developed Vetting (DV).
Internal Recruiter: Soraya.
Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy additional days, health cash plan, life assurance, and pension.

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we believe that flexibility at work can promote work/life balance, increase your motivation, reduce stress and improves performance and productivity. We support different ways of working and can offer a range of flexible working arrangements. So, if you're interested and need to work flexibly, we encourage you to apply and talk to us about what might be possible.
