Job description
Are you an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect looking to take ownership of complex technical solutions that support highly secure, mission-critical environments? We are looking for an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to join our ADS sector, supporting the continued development and expansion of a highly secure collaboration platform used by organisations operating within secure environments.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of key areas of the infrastructure architecture, shaping existing solutions, driving technical improvements and helping deliver new capabilities as the platform continues to expand.
Working alongside experienced Architects, Engineers and Security Specialists, you will play an important role in ensuring our infrastructure remains secure, scalable, resilient and capable of supporting mission-critical operations.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for candidates who currently hold active Security Clearance (SC) and are eligible to undergo MoD Developed Vetting (DV). This is a hybrid opportunity, so candidates must be able to travel to site as required by business needs. What you will be doing: - Own and develop infrastructure architecture across key technology domains, including data centres, servers, storage, virtualisation, VDI and Microsoft core services.
- Take responsibility for existing infrastructure designs, creating and maintaining HLDs, LLDs and technical documentation while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Shape infrastructure technology roadmaps, ensuring solutions remain secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with future customer requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Security and Service teams to translate architectural designs into practical solutions, providing technical direction and guidance throughout delivery.
- Lead technical solutions through architecture and security governance, influencing key design decisions and managing technical risks.
- Oversee infrastructure hardware design, specification and procurement, working with technology suppliers such as Dell, HP and Cisco.
What you will bring: - A strong background in Infrastructure, Technical or Solution Architecture, with the ability to take ownership of complex infrastructure solutions.
- Good knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware virtualisation technologies and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), ideally VMware Horizon.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and other on-premises Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
- An understanding of enterprise data centre infrastructure, including physical servers, SANs, storage and associated hardware, along with vendor procurement and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- The ability to produce HLDs, LLDs and technical design documentation, progress solutions through governance and work collaboratively with engineering teams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills, with the ability to influence architectural decisions and deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
If you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we're looking for, please do apply, we'd love to hear from you!
