Salary: circa £55,000 - £75,000

A bit about the job

As our Lead Data Scientist, you'll develop, test and embed advanced modelling techniques that help us price smarter, understand customer behaviour, and reduce risk.

You'll collaborate closely with pricing, underwriting and product teams, and you'll guide more junior data scientists as part of a supportive, forward-looking community.

Your work will help shape decisions across Personal Lines and directly influence how we improve outcomes for our customers.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Proven experience applying data science techniques to large & complex datasets.
• Strong statistical modelling and machine learning skills, with hands on experience using Python, R or SQL.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor junior colleagues, inspiring innovation and continuous learning.
• Confident communicator who can translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Curious, creative problem solver with a track record of delivering impactful data driven solutions.

• Salary circa £55,000 - £75,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
• Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's
