COO Oversight Consultant
Locations: Bristol, Eastleigh, Sheffield, Norwich Perth
12 Month FTC
This is for someone who is resilient and analytical leader who stands firm against commercial pressures to robustly challenge senior executives and vendors. Proactive in interpreting data trends to prevent harm, they combine collaborative coaching with a resilient approach to navigate complex, evolving regulatory landscapes effectively.
About the role
This role centers on conducting independent oversight and risk assurance across internal UK IWR businesses and outsourced partners. Key responsibilities include analysing data to identify systemic trends, evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, and providing critical challenge during Risk and Control Self-Assessments. The position requires robust stakeholder collaboration across first, second, and third lines of defence, alongside external entities like the FCA and FOS. Professionals in this capacity drive process improvements, oversee high-risk areas such as Consumer Duty and vulnerable customer frameworks, and ensure material risks and regulatory reporting requirements-including six-monthly FCA returns-are properly managed and escalated through formal governance channels.
