We are seeking to recruit a Legal Practice and Data Protection Paralegal, could it be you?

As part of the Practice and Compliance Group within the Law and Governance Service, the Legal Practice and Data Protection Paralegal primarily supports the Data Protection Officer (DPO), who as part of their legally mandated post provides advice to all levels of the officers in the Council and Schools as well as guiding the organisation's strategic approach to data protection and driving a data protection awareness culture through engagement and education. The successful candidate will support the DPO across all areas of their remit, providing proactive and dynamic administration support to effectively and professionally manage data protection queries received to the data protection mailbox in a timely manner and to support the DPO with broader data protection matters. A formal legal qualification is not necessary; however, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a high standard of written English. You should have a knowledge of Data Protection Law and be able to display enthusiasm and interest in this area, ultimately, you will be part of driving a data protection culture. You will need to be a team player who can demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility, and excellent organisational skills. The ability to work to tight timescales/deadlines is essential for this role. This post is classified as a flexible worker and requires 3 days office attendance a week.
