The Role / Position Overview

We have an ambitious goal; to ensure all of our people are AI fluent by the end of 2024 and that we're optimising the potential of AI across our business. We've made some great progress, and to scale our plans, we need an expert who can lead on our AI Fluency Initiative and execute the learning strategy.

In this new role you will support our global efforts to upskill our people and coordinate with other AI communities. You will be responsible for setting objectives, identifying AI learning personas, monitoring progress and creating a learning programme that is able to respond quickly to changes & optimised for impact. You will be key to working with 3rd party suppliers to ensure adequate training and material is available for AI tools and sharing expertise across the organisation.

What you'll be doing day to day?
  • Designing and executing a learning strategy aimed at achieving AI fluency for FT employees by the end of 2024
  • Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of AI learning initiatives; sharing with relevant stakeholders and generating buzz around the organisation
  • Using AI learning personas to shape strategy and tactics within the AI Fluency Initiative
  • Being a leading voice in cross-functional AI communities to ensure a consistent and common understanding as well as facilitate opportunities to share knowledge
  • Working closely with Internal Comms on multi-channel communications strategy including clarity of messaging, appropriate cadence and pitched at the right level for different audience needs
  • Defining our AI curriculum and devising how we roll out and engage our employees, collaborating closely with the Data & AI Academy Programme Manager
  • You will ensure we're continuously improving our learning materials and resources for online and in person learning - particularly leveraging content from 3rd parties
  • You will identify and proactively pursue opportunities for supporting our teams with specialist knowledge where required
  • You will contribute to business success by driving the completion of learner evaluations and identifying and referring opportunities for improvement
  • You'll take ownership for your own continuous professional development to ensure up to date and relevant delivery

Required Skills / Experience
  • Demonstrable ability to enthuse and galvanise a cross-functional audience into engaging with transformative technology (or similar)
  • An ability to translate complexity into simplicity
  • A strong understanding of/aptitude for learning how AI can be applied and its ethical considerations. Deep technical expertise such as understanding machine learning principles, the relative merits of different models, or the technical aspects of model and AI-powered tool deployment is NOT a requirement
  • Evidence of the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • Excellent project management skills, and proven experience engaging multiple individuals and groups across the FT to ensure that strategies are rolled out effectively business wide.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable adapting to changing demands and working with ambiguity to manage multiple different work streams at once.
