Job description

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To provide insight and influence to impact performance and produce excellent Client Reporting through added value financial analysis and valued input to the operational team alongside financial and contract support engagement and direction in the contract. This role will provide the backbone of CBRE reporting within the account by managing the UK which is has multiple transactions flowing through the entity. This role is suited to someone who is naturally curious, driven, ambitious and relentless in looking for continuous improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

CBRE Reporting:

  • Management of UK&I month-end process:
    • Posting of accruals & invoices
    • Dealing with intercompany transactions within account & across other clients
    • UBR and UER recognition
    • Managing budgetary adherence, and clearly communicating variances in a succinct and comprehensive manner
    • Working in a SOx environment
    • Using PeopleSoft ERP system to actively manage the monthly GL, understanding costs & revenues, and those which have been centrally allocated
    • Support compilation of CBRE annual budgets & quarterly forecasts
    • Balance sheet preparation and reviews
    • Provide added value financial variance insight to support financial reporting

Client Reporting:

  • Management of UK&I client month-end process:
    • Posting of client accruals & invoices
    • Close engagement with the client business partners in communicating month-end performance, and budget accuracy
    • Strong collaboration with the Operational teams to ensure awareness of month-end performance & the future financial outlook
    • Managing budgetary adherence, and clearly communicating variances in a succinct and comprehensive manner
    • Working with internal client month-end processes, pro-actively chasing invoicing of supplier payments & management of consumable spend
  • Produce client reports and provide value add financial commentary in their portfolio
  • Work with the client to compile annual budgets & quarterly forecasts
  • Support collation of monthly accruals to Client finance teams
  • Provide added value financial variance insight to support financial reporting

General:

  • Develop strong relationships with both the Client operational and Client finance teams
  • Understand the commercial model and enforce governance and compliance to support effective execution
  • Working closely with operations and commercial team to identify all possible savings opportunities and ensure that financial targets are achieved
  • Achieve results within quality and time restraints across multiple locations and countries
  • Provide direct financial support and drive best-in-class across the broader account
  • Working closely with Europe finance team to implement baseline and savings tracking reporting and analysis
  • Ensure finance procedures are adhered to by operations team, and take corrective action / escalate where required
  • Support in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required, mainly within the Senior FM & Global FD
  • Policy and procedure compliance from both a CBRE & client perspective
  • Support seamless management of the contract across UK&I
  • Share best practice and innovation, namely around contract terms, with both finance & operations
  • Deliver on customer expectations professionally and with high levels of commercial acumen
  • Involve people within decision making, and be a key influence

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Accountable to the Finance Manager overseeing the countries within the Europe region
  • Month-end deliverables for both CBRE and client reporting
  • Driving best practice on-account, looking at way to improve and drive efficiencies

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION:

  • Hold a Chartered Accountant qualification (or equivalent), or part-qualified
  • Highly computer literate with IT Skills and demonstrable experience working with complex financial and operational information systems and controls in a large business that provides consistent and reliable information
  • Ability to combine vision with hands-on, pragmatic delivery within tight timescales
  • Understands the requirements of operating in a cross border multiservice line environment
  • Worked in a complex multinational with hands on experience of working with teams in continental Europe
  • Proven commercial acumen and ability to contribute to decision-making
  • Management skills to maximise the performance of staff working directly for them and others
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and able to communicate with people at all levels across the account and develop effective relationships at all levels

DESIREABLE EXPERIENCE:

  • Complex commercial models and Cost-Plus experience
  • Presentation skills to effectively communicate ideas and results to Senior Stakeholders, both within CBRE & the client
  • Working with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, TM1 & PowerBI
