Proud Network at CBRE

The CBRE UK Proud Network provides an open-minded support system for conducting business while addressing the personal requirements of our LGBTQ+ community.

The group acts as an advocate for shaping CBRE practices and programs to ensure a business community where merit supersedes sexual orientation and gender.

Proud Network at CBRE

Our Mission -Why 'Proud'?

CBRE's Proud Network is for everyone! Whether you're Proud to be LGBTQ+, Proud to be an Allie (parent, friend, colleague) or simply Proud to be you, we have something for everyone. We offer mentoring, support, socials and discussion platforms to encourage debates, networking and fun. Our members will gain insight, confidence, support, knowledge and a fun new network to be around. Lastly, and most importantly, you will be contributing to creating a more inclusive culture at CBRE.

Who is it for? - Simply EVERYONE! If you are part of the LGBTQ community, fantastic! If you are a parent, friend or colleague looking to support a loved one or colleague, equally fantastic! If you are none of the above and simply want to be part of our fun network, just as fantastic!

What can you expect?

  • Proud Mentoring - find LGBTQ mentors and Allie mentors to learn and grow from or equally become a mentor.
  • Proud Socials - from cinema nights, to pub quizzes, to pumpkin carving, you'll never have a dull event!
  • Proud Discussion - open forums in various formats to explore key issues affecting the LGBTQ community.
  • Proud Insights - listen to inspiring podcast and insights from our Proud members, sharing experiences from a vast variety of backgrounds and achievements.

Launched CBRE’s First Ever UK Coming Out Guide – A Milestone for Workplace LGBTQ Inclusion!

We are extremely PROUD to be launching the UK Coming Out Guide at CBRE, a document dedicated to supporting those who wish to come out in the workplace and those supporting their journey.

What does the guide cover?

  • What is coming out and how do people usually do it?
  • What we are doing at CBRE to create an inclusive culture
  • Benefits and support for those coming out in the workplace
  • Protecting our employees and how to be an LGBTQ+ Ally
  • Dealing with unsupportive colleagues

CBRE

At CBRE, we're celebrating Pride this year by looking back on the progress that has been achieved in 50 years, and to celebrate all those LGBTQ+ individuals and allies who have worked so hard to strive for equality. Since 1972, the year of the first official Pride march in the UK, we've seen great progress to LGBTQ+ equality, including the legalisation of same sex marriage and equal workplace rights. But there is still work to be done to ensure we continue that change in society, and in our CBRE workplaces.

To celebrate 50 years of Pride in the UK, we wanted to hear from our LGBTQ+ community and allies from across CBRE on what Pride means to them.

Our theme for this year's celebration of Pride is "Can't Hide My Pride", and below you can find a selection of portraits from our LGBTQ+ staff and allies that show a side of their lives that is not usually visible through their corporate profile.

At CBRE, we want our colleagues to thrive by fostering an inclusive environment for everyone. This means ensuring that our LGBTQ+ colleagues find our company an inclusive place to work, where coming out in the workplace is a positive experience in which our people feel safe, valued and heard.

Please take some time to look through the Pride 50 portraits below, and see that our LGBTQ+ community at CBRE is thriving, and that CBRE is a fully supportive, positive and inclusive place to work!
