Job description

As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:
  • You will work on large, complex products or services, or across a number of products or services simultaneously.
  • You will lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex products or services.
  • You will communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
  • You will understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
  • You will lead BA activities and initiatives and will champion continual learning & development within the BA community.
  • You will be a leading member of the BA community, taking on leadership and line management responsibilities of BAs. Additionally, you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
  • You will encourage and promote Agile methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on Agile principles, methods, and tools to support their development.
  • Experience of working within the payments or banking sector to lead on business analysis to support large scale change and making key decisions would be beneficial when starting the role but is not essential.

Salary Information

Pay for this role is from 52,412 to 63,517.

Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.

Location

Applicants should apply for suitable posts where they can travel to and from their home office location daily within a reasonable time.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed

Stage 1: Application

Stage 2: Interview

If youre successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the following experiences:

Significant experience of working at Senior BA level and leading business analysis activities within complex projects / environments.

Using a wide range of tools and techniques to identify improvements and make recommendations.

Supporting colleagues to take responsibility for their own learning and development.

Interviews will take place from early-June 2024. Interview dates to be confirmed.
