Portfolio Hardware Engineering ManagerLocation: Cheadle (Stockport, Greater Manchester)We can offer a hybrid approach to office and remote working. We would expect 3 days per week as the standard days at the Cheadle site.

Our Opportunity The Portfolio Hardware Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing functional leadership to the team of hardware engineers working within the Portfolio Hardware team, ensuring that all deliverables are resourced with the appropriate skills and knowledge to meet the committed quality, budget and schedule constraints.
The Portfolio Hardware Engineering Manager will take responsibility for the development of the team's skills and knowledge, ensuring that the current and future capabilities of the Portfolio/Sector/Product line are taken into account. In addition, you will take a custodian role for the Hardware Engineering function based at Cheadle.
The Portfolio Hardware Engineering Manager will also contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes supporting the Portfolio/Sector/Product delivery model with the relevant Head of Engineering Delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:- Develop and maintain a resilient and high performing team
- Develop and maintain Knowledge Transfers, opportunities for growth, and strategic capability planning for the team;
- Establish Portfolio Product process capability;
- Accountable for the delivery of any Hardware Engineering design/development tasks within the portfolio by ensuring adequate resourcing solutions are in place;
- Management of expectations of key stakeholders (Head of Engineering Delivery, Programme Manager, Product Architects, Product Design Authorities);
About you:We are looking for a forward thinking and strategic leader with experience within an appropriate Engineering Defence or Aerospace team. You will have the ability to effectively manage and build relationships across the business, combined with a strong record of managing effective trams, tackling under performance and recognising success and talent. You will possess effective personal organisational skills, being able to remain focused under pressure.
