Thales seeks to increase representation of women in leadership through new partnership with Solaris

Thales has partnered with Solaris Women’s Executive Leadership Development. 

In today's diverse and interconnected world, fostering inclusive leadership and encouraging leaders to lead as allies has become paramount. Learning plays a crucial role in developing leaders with this mindset and developing leaders within diverse groups is absolutely part of this. Leadership development is imperative to all organisations and at Thales, we strive to ensure all of our leaders receive access to inclusive and innovative leadership development. We are also very aware that certain communities may have additional requirements that we are not specialists in and for that, we look to our partners to support us. 

With this in mind our attraction of women of colour, and the representation of Women of colour in our leadership population is not representative of our customer base and society, we know that we have to take bold steps to achieve that, and this is why we have partnered with Solaris Women’s Executive Leadership Development

At Thales, we understand that representation is critical, if new talent cannot see what they would like to be this is a blocker and uninspiring to them, the value of role modelling is significant. Solaris creates an environment in which aspiring and successful black female leaders can learn together and from each other. The programme provides mentoring, sponsorship and coaching for the talent within a group that is under-represented in organisations. Solaris provides the platform to establish a strong international network of black female leaders in and outside of Thales and creates a talent pool to contribute to the achievement of inclusion and diversity goals of organisations across the world. This year we have extended this leadership development to the new ‘Rising stars’ development programme paying particular emphasis on instilling the fundamental basics of Leadership, Career and Life Development for those more junior in their leadership journey. This will provide a platform from which our developing talent can accelerate their growth and fully realise their potential.

Through inclusive leadership and cultivating leaders that bring a wider level of collective intelligence to our business, our organisation can harness the collective strengths of our workforce. This approach enhances creativity, innovation, and problem-solving by incorporating a wide range of perspectives. Moreover, it boosts employee morale and engagement, leading to a more positive workplace culture. Inclusive leaders not only inspire confidence and trust but also drive meaningful change, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute their best, ultimately leading to the overall success of the organisation.  Both of these programmes add to our ever-increasing leadership development and talent development programmes at Thales and we are delighted to be partnering with Yetunde Hofmann and Solaris and Rising Stars development to enable us to offer this unique development opportunity.
