Theatre Practitioner - Cardiac

Barts Hospital | Cardiac Theatre | Permanent | Full time | Includes weekend work

Competitive salary, depending on experience

37.5 hours per week

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and you will be able to developed clinical skills, act as a role model as well as manage complex patient care. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients. Along the way, you'll build strong relationships with consultants, hospital senior leaders, a wide range of healthcare professionals and, of course, patients.

Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, your specialist training should include a minimum of ILS. You will have experience of managing complex cardiac procedures and an awareness of interventional cardiac procedures would be a plus. A minimum of 1 years' experience working in a Cardiac theatre setting is essential. You'll be accountable for motivating and educating your peers within the multidisciplinary team. Offering full time, part time and bank positions applicants will be willing to work flexibly across different shift patterns covering a six-day service and participation in the departmental on-call rota is required.

Nuffield Health Barts Hospital

We have opened the doors to Nuffield Health at St Bartholomew's Hospital: The City of London's only independent hospital, situated next to St Bartholomew's NHS hospital. This will be our flagship centre for cardiac services and we also provide a full range of surgical and medical services, including: orthopaedics, oncology, general surgery, gynaecology and urology services.

The hospital consists of:

  • 48 inpatient and day case bedrooms

  • 28 consultation rooms

  • Three digital operating theatres

  • Cardiac catheterisation lab

  • Specialist intensive care beds

  • Oncology day unit

  • Endoscopy and minor ops theatre

  • Full diagnostic imaging suite including MRI, CT, ultrasound, mammography and general X-ray
