Job description

DWP teams need information about how our digital solutions are used and whether they meet our users expectations. Gathering this insight helps us make better, more-informed choices. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to turn data into stories that help DWP understand and measure our users needs.

Youll use your interpersonal skills to build and nurture relationships, using your knowledge of user journeys to gently guide them down the path of continuous improvement. This will involve collaborating to understand priorities then supporting the development of meaningful performance measures.

You will manage a small team of digital performance analysts who will provide you with the capacity to provide insightful analysis. You will step in to help with any complex elements of this work.

The strategic conversations you have will generate your teams projects being able to prioritise and delegate will ensure we focus resource in the right places.

This is leadership role where you will set day-to-day priorities for the team. You will be a key role model for the digital performance community who will look to you to offer coaching and guidance on the best tools and methods of data collection to use.

Salary Information

Pay for this role is from 52,412 to 63,517.

The maximum salary for the grade is 63,517, however a Digital Allowance of up to 3,695 per annum is available for exceptional candidates, based on our assessment of your skills and experience. Our offer to successful candidates will be based on an assessment of your skills and experience as demonstrated at interview.

Existing Civil Servants who secure a new role on lateral transfer should maintain their current salary.

Existing Civil Servants who gain promotion may move to the bottom of the next grade pay scale or 10% increase in salary whichever would be the greater.

Location

Applicants should apply for suitable posts where they can travel to and from their home office location daily within a reasonable time.

Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed

Stage 1: Application

Your application will consist of three parts:

1. A Personal Details application form.

2. Your employment history detailing your responsibilities, skills, accomplishments, plus your qualifications and relevant training. Please copy this information into the box field provided. 3. Technical statement (up to 250 words):

Performance Measurement - What is the most complex performance analysis project you've worked on? What made the project complex? How did you contribute?

An initial sift will be conducted using the technical statement (Performance Measurement). Candidates who pass the initial sift will be progressed to a full sift. The sift panel will use the information in your employment history to assess your experience, skills and knowledge against the essential criteria above.

Stage 2: Interview

If youre successful at sift stage you will be invited to a video interview via Microsoft Teams. There, you will be assessed against the experiences listed in the essential criteria.

You will be asked to do a (10 minutes) presentation on a specific topic. Further details will be provided to candidates invited to interview.

Interviews will take place from early-June 2024. Interview dates to be confirmed.

To help you prepare and settle into the interview you will be sent the interview questions in advance of the interview, at least 5 days prior to your interview. These questions should be treated as confidential and should not be shared. The interview panel may ask you other questions which will not be shared in advance, including follow-up questions, and those about your experience and abilities. Candidates will be asked further probing questions if their response is deemed to require further information to determine suitability for the role.
