Senior Consultant , TAX Advisory | Corporate Finance

About the Role:

We focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. There will also be opportunities to work across the broader Tax Advisory team to gain wide-ranging skills and experience and develop your career in a progressive and supportive team.

What You'll Do:

Technical:

  • Tax due diligence on corporate real estate acquisitions, including compiling information requests, reviewing documents and drafting reports, and managing the input of other specialists (e.g. VAT, capital allowances, employment taxes/CIS)
  • Tax structuring work for acquisitions, refinancing, reorganisations and disposals, including researching technical points, managing the input of other specialists and drafting practical, robustly supported advice and reports
  • Assisting clients on non-tax specific workstreams such as funds flows and financial due diligence
  • Actively keeping up to date on specialist technical matter particularly considering the changing real estate tax landscape, contributing to thought management material as required
  • Tax compliance and reporting for UK companies and non-resident landlords
  • Performing transfer pricing study in relation to related party debt financing
  • Advising both landlords and occupiers on all aspects of real estate lease transactions, from initial incentives to renewal, dilapidations and surrender
  • Proactively manage risk and engagement administration


Client Delivery:

  • Understand project objectives, and client requirements and deadlines
  • Assist in the planning of project timetables and be responsible for progress; working with the senior team to manage and deliver the project
  • Liaise directly with clients and develop client relationships
  • Attend, and contribute to, client meetings and conference calls
  • Support the team in their respective roles, as required


General:

  • Actively participate in business development, as required
  • Assist in the team's internal training programme


How You'll Grow:

The role will allow you flexibility to put in place your own framework for success and to work collaboratively with the wider team to support the exciting growth in the FTI Corporate Finance practice. The role is by its nature, flexible allowing for the expansion of opportunities or responsibilities outside of the areas set out above into other matters that you feel can contribute to the broader remit to enhance our technical compliance and operational leanness. There is also the opportunity to interact with industry bodies and networks and / or develop thought leadership. Given the focus on technical excellence, the role will demand that you remain keen to learn and full support will be given to any third-party training or coaching required to assist with the role.

Basic Qualifications / Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified to a degree level (2.1) or equivalent, ideally in a finance or numerical related subject
  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualified
