We're seeking a future team member for the role of Regulatory Remediation Lead join our Regulatory Relations team. This role is located in Manchester.

Team Description:

Risk and Compliance oversees risk services across all BNY Mellon businesses. Risk management ensures new business risks are reviewed and approved, while Compliance maintains processes compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and ethics.

The Office of Regulatory Relations is responsible for developing and coordinating the company-wide strategy and approach to major regulatory supervisory matters. The function centrally manages BNY Mellon's relationships and interactions with supervisory regulators, partnering with all business and functions across the company.

Primary Responsibilities

The Regulatory Remediation Lead supports the company's regulatory strategy by driving continuous improvement of regulatory remediation responses and outcomes. Problem solver with an eye for detail and immaculate quality in delivering on regulatory requests and remediation work. Coordinates the end-to-end oversight process for remediation efforts from plan development through closure of the regulatory finding, ensuring the adoption of best practices/standards and the appropriate use of governance. Serves as lead for coordinating, tracking, and reporting on EU remediation activities. Provides guidance and insight on complex issues using lessons learnt. Determines where measurement gaps exist and devises new metrics or reports to fill those gaps. Navigates the entire firm in order to effectively complete tasks. Develops consultative partnerships with internal teams and leaders to understand their remediation progress and outcomes. Models and champions firm's values such as diversity, teamwork, client focus, integrity, and excellence.

This role will support regulatory remediation activities in Europe, including:

  • Managing internal end-to-end process for centralised, independent oversight of regulatory remediation

  • Driving the development of effective remediation plans, providing consultation and guidance on best practices to business/functional leaders

  • Implementing enhanced framework across the company in response to new regulatory findings

  • Tracking progress of remediation efforts at all phases and escalating issues

  • Analysing regulatory findings to identify and anticipate trends

  • Producing regular and ad hoc reports for senior leadership

Requirements:

  • Experience in the securities or financial services industry is preferred

  • Previous experience with regulatory remediation and/or enterprise-wide framework implementation preferred

  • Strategic and analytical mindset, executive presence, and grace under pressure

  • Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and within tight deadlines

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Background in Audit/Compliance or Risk would be beneficial

  • Experience of project management

  • Experience of EU Regulations


Leadership:

Serves as lead for coordinating, tracking, and reporting on regulatory remediation activities in Europe; no direct reports

Education:

Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of work experience required
