Hardware Engineering Manager - Support & Services Location: Cheadle, Templecombe or Crawley We can offer a hybrid approach to office and remote working. We would expect 3 days per week as the standard days at one of the key Under Water Systems sites - Cheadle, Templecombe or Crawley

We are on the lookout for a talented Hardware Engineering Manager to take a pivotal role within a dynamic team leading the development of next-generation hardware solutions!
The role:The Support & Services Sector Hardware Engineering Manager will be responsible for providing sector level functional leadership to the team of hardware engineers working within the Portfolio Hardware team, ensuring that all deliverables are resourced with the appropriate skills and knowledge to meet the committed quality, budget and schedule constraints.
The Support & Services Sector Hardware Engineering Manager will take responsibility for the development of the team's skills and knowledge, ensuring that the current and future capabilities of the Sector are taken into account.
The Support & Services Sector Hardware Engineering Manager will also contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes supporting the Sector/ delivery model with the Support & Services Head of Engineering Delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:- Develop and Maintain a Support & Services Sector Hardware Capability with a resilient and high performing team;
- Develop and deliver a strategy for ensuring that Knowledge required to support any in-service products over the lifespan of the requirement;
- Develop and maintain Knowledge Transfers, opportunities for growth, and strategic capability planning for the team across all sectors, ensuring opportunities between portfolios are explored and accounted for;
- Management of expectations of key stakeholders (Head of Engineering Delivery, Programme Manager, Product Architects, Product Design Authorities);
The individual manages their own day-to-day activities and provides direction and guidance to the team(s) delivering their commitments. Activities are required to be planned and completed in accordance with the varying Sector requirements (bid timescales, monthly reporting cycle, etc.).
About you: We are looking for a forward thinking and strategic leader with experience within an appropriate Engineering Defence or Aerospace team. You will have the ability to effectively manage and build relationships across the business, combined with a strong record of managing effective trams, tackling under performance and recognising success and talent. You will possess effective personal organisational skills, being able to remain focused under pressure.
