About the Role

Base Location: Flexible UK & Ireland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.

SSE's EV business is going through an exciting period of growth and is constantly looking at new markets in which to operate, opportunities to decarbonise transport and accelerate Net Zero. As such we are looking for a Commercial Manager to support the development of our eHGV offering. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for:

- Refinement of the business case for electrical infrastructure to support eHGV transport.

- Engaging with landowners, suppliers and contractors and negotiating terms on behalf of the business to support the deployment of infrastructure.

- Engage partners and customers to secure revenue opportunities to support the business case (contracted use and complimentary revenues).

- Managing key stake holders and interfaces across the whole business and look for ways to deploy multiple technologies to support the business case.

- Identify, mitigate and manage commercial risk associated with the deployment.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience of successfully carrying out a Commercial Manager role.

- Recognised qualification in a QS /commercial related subject.

- Strong knowledge of standard form contracts (NEC/JCT/FIDIC) as well as bespoke commercial arrangements.

- Highly experienced in financial control of projects, including cost control and other processes.

- Strong attention to detail in reviewing complex contractual arrangements.

- Able to identify contractual risks and a range of potential mitigation solutions.
