About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Jacobs acts as the Technical Advisor to PEJ Sp z o.o. (PEJ), which is the state-owned entity responsible for delivering Poland's nuclear power programme. The Technical Advisor's role is that of an "Owner's Engineer", which is not involved directly in any NPP design or construction activity, but rather acts as an advocate for the Client, applying technical due diligence to all aspects of the process, along with supply chain and contract management support for plant and equipment vendors engaged by the Client.

Jacobs is recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join our Poland Clean Energy Nuclear New Build team.

• As a Commercial Manager within our New Nuclear Power business, you will be involved in technically challenging roles in career-defining programmes.
• The Commercial Manager within the Jacobs team is a key role within an integrated delivery team with significant responsibility. Whilst you will be the principle point of contact for your area of responsibility, you will be expected to work as a valued subject matter expert within the wider team to facilitate the best outcomes for our Clients.
• You will report to a Senior Commercial Manager or Commercial Lead.
• As a Commercial Manager you may be responsible for leading a professional commercial team

Here's What You'll Need:

• Effective commercial / contract management skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.
• Strong leadership, collaborative and team working skills, with the ability to act as deputy.
• Able to demonstrate a considerable track record of successful procurement and effective contract administration.
• Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.
• Good understanding of contract performance measurement, risk management and change and claim management.
• Track record with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within major infrastructure projects and programme environment; with knowledge of legal matters and its impact upon the contract and commercial function.
• Good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework.
• Comfortable in managing stakeholders effectively.
