Join us as an ICB Trade and Working Capital Originator where you'll play a key role in delivering income and balance sheet growth across the Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and Pharmaceutical, with an additional focus on Tech Media and Telco clients. You'll support origination efforts as well as support on execution of core Trade & Working Capital solutions across the full product set, including guarantees, indemnities, open account, and ECA through to all TWC products. There is a focus on Supply Chain Finance. Acting as support originator for a defined client portfolio, you'll drive business development initiatives in close collaboration with Coverage and product partners.
The role offers the opportunity to work with some of Barclays' most significant global clients while building trusted relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Considerable commercial and business sense
- Excellent ability to analyse and drive initiatives working in large teams
- The ability to quickly learn on TWC tools and calculators to drive transactions forward with the ability to work cooperatively with credit and pricing teams and highlight change
- Some track record of client relationships
- Some basic knowledge of structured trade and Supply Chain Finance, working with non-bank led partners is desirable
- Knowledge of Trade and Working Capital products, related legal documentation, and working capital structures..
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial drive with a track record of building relationships
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships.
- Considerable research, analytical, and presentation skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Other highly valued skills include:
- Some Trade and Working Capital origination experience with large international clients, Consumer, Retail, Healthcare and Pharma sector exposure is also desirable.

This role is based in Canary Wharf, London.
Purpose of the roleTo generate revenue and promote the bank's diverse Trade & Working Capital product and service offerings to various customer segments.
Accountabilities- Identification of potential customers, analysing their needs and preferences, and staying abreast of emerging market trends and competitor strategies.
- Creation of detailed profiles for target customer segments, outlining their requirements, needs, and pain points to tailor sales approaches and product recommendations.
- Relationship management of potential and existing customer relations through the execution of high-quality customer support, by responding to queries and resolving issues, gaining their customer trust, and understanding their financial goals and challenges.
- Understanding of the features, benefits, risks, and compliance requirements of various Trade & Working Capital products and services offered. Understanding of the key features, benefits, risks, enhancements, and regulatory requirements of new and existing banking products, and communicate insights clearly to potential customers to address their financial needs.
- Development of compelling sales pitches and proposals that showcase the value proposition of the bank's offerings to convert leads into customers, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank.
- Collection and analysis of customer feedback on various products, services, and overall experience, to support the development of reports that communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders, to inform product development and sales strategies.
- Monitoring of lead conversion rates, customer acquisition costs, and other relevant metrics to assess sales performance and identify areas for improvement.
