Pride 2024 at DIO

DIO’s LGBT+ Network held an event today at our Head Office to mark Pride month. Network members chatted with colleagues about their experiences and the work of the network, held a cake sale and shared information.

DIO has multiple staff-run networks to support colleagues. As well as the LGBT+ Network, we have the Race Network, Disability Network, Faith and Belief Network, Gender Network, and Social Mobility Network.

The DIO LGBT+ Network

The DIO LGBT+ Network helps to create a culture of inclusion, and equality for all LGBT+ colleagues in DIO. Our network consists of volunteers from across DIO, who dedicate their time towards supporting you and educating others on LGBT+ awareness and issues. Like the other staff networks in DIO, we aim to ensure that the needs of all employees are considered and valued; regardless of any dimension of diversity.

The work that we are doing as a network will enable us to improve the way we attract, support and retain colleagues from diverse backgrounds and enable you to perform at your best and have a long career within Defence. The network has senior support from within DIO, who work with us to influence inclusion and culture across the business. At DIO we build talent and skill to support Defence outputs with capable and motivated people that represent the breath of the society we exist to defend, now and in the future.

ShOUT is the  Defence HQ LGBTQ+ Employee Staff Network representing all Sexual Orientation and Gender Identities across the civilian workforce.
