Job summary

Main duties of the job

Role SummaryWorking as part of the Anaesthetics Support and Administration team, the postholder will support theprovision of a comprehensive, proactive, effective and efficient administrative function to all members of theDepartment and its stakeholders. This requires the postholder to be adaptable to changing demands, witheffective interpersonal, communication and data-management skills.

This post provides administrative cover primarily for the Anaesthetics & Theatre scheduling department. Responsibilities include answering and directing urgent calls, and providing general administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations.

The postholder will also contribute to providing a high-quality and efficient surgical scheduling service for patients and consultant teams across Royal Stoke Hospital and Stafford Hospital. They will help ensure that patients receive their surgical interventions within appropriate timescales based on clinical need, national waiting list targets, and Trust priorities. As instructed by the Team Leader, the Theatre Scheduler will support the wider Theatre Scheduling Team and act as a point of contact for colleagues for various stakeholders. The complexity and intensity of the service workload has increased in recent years, and it is essential that the postholder can adapt to changing demands.

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Experience managing a range of general administrative duties (printing, filing, record keeping, archiving).
