Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The postholder will also contribute to providing a high-quality and efficient surgical scheduling service for patients and consultant teams across Royal Stoke Hospital and Stafford Hospital. They will help ensure that patients receive their surgical interventions within appropriate timescales based on clinical need, national waiting list targets, and Trust priorities. As instructed by the Team Leader, the Theatre Scheduler will support the wider Theatre Scheduling Team and act as a point of contact for colleagues for various stakeholders. The complexity and intensity of the service workload has increased in recent years, and it is essential that the postholder can adapt to changing demands.

Essential Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience providing administrative support in a busy office or clinical environment.
  • Experience managing a range of general administrative duties (printing, filing, record keeping, archiving).

  • Understanding of confidentiality, information governance, and data protection
