Shape better services as a Senior Pensions Data Consultant - Pensions Solutions

You will lead on the creation and implementation of a clients' data management plan by working closely with the Client Relationship Managers to ensure that clients have an effective and appropriate Data Strategy underpinned by robust Data Management and Data Improvement plans which meet the clients strategic objectives.

You will be an advocate for Data Solutions by recommending the most appropriate Data solutions products and services to meet those objectives in the most effective way. Managing several opportunities, projects, clients simultaneously with both your own workload and ensuring priorities for the delivery teams are clearly identified.

The role will suit candidates with previous experience in leading pensions data projects, with a good understanding of the legislative and governance requirements for Pensions scheme data and how data quality can improve outcomes for both members and trustees/scheme managers.

Job Description:

The main objectives of the role are to:
  • Work with Client Relationship Managers to advise clients on an appropriate Data Strategy to align to their strategic objectives for their scheme in the short, medium and long-term
  • Develop, create and maintain the clients Data Management plans and data improvement plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the Data Solutions Delivery teams to ensure that plans and projects are successfully delivered in a client-centric approach.
  • Support our colleagues in meeting revenue targets by recommending appropriate solutions to support the operational teams to deliver revenue.
Key Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on the importance of data quality in terms of meeting their regulatory requirements and how data quality can improve member outcomes, reduce risk and lead to administrative efficiency.
  • Work with the head of Pensions Data Strategy to develop client centric market leading data quality reporting, Data Management and Data Improvements plans.
  • Lead, create, implement, and maintain client specific Data Management plans.
  • Work with the delivery teams to identify any areas of improvement required to a client's data quality and ensure they are captured in a robust Data Improvement Plan.
  • Advise and support clients in identifying solutions to improve the quality of their data and recommending the appropriate Data Solutions products and services to deliver that improvement.
  • Lead on preparing CCN's and proposals for clients to agree to recommended solutions.
Key Tasks
  • A ct as the Client Facing representative and lead on Data Solutions projects.
  • Attending meetings with Pensions Managers, Trustee Boards, and other key client contacts to support the CRM's.
  • Own and develop client specific Data Management Plans in accordance with the Clients Data Strategy.
  • Maintain and update clients Data Management and Data Improvement plans.
  • Support CRMs in presenting on Data Solutions projects, such as but not limited to Data Quality reports, GMP projects and De-risking.
  • Ensure all new data project works is clearly understood, requirements documented, and project scope agreed both with the client and communicated to the delivery teams.
  • Work closely with allocated project managers to ensure project risks and issues are identified as soon as possible and client leads are kept informed, escalating issues to Data solutions colleagues where necessary.
  • Draft and contribute to proposals for existing clients for OI work, re-tenders, and bids / new logo tenders.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

Essential
  • In-Depth knowledge of UK Pension Schemes: Private Sector DB arrangements
  • Experience of delivering data pensions projects such as cleansing pension scheme data GMP
  • Strong Client relationship skills and is able to build increased knowledge of the clients under their remit and actively seeks to gain knowledge of other clients
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Pensions regulations and Policies that our business is managed by including GDPR, FCA and ISO
  • Applying statistical and/or logical techniques to evaluate data and inform conclusions
  • Can review data sources and interpret analysis
  • Able to analyse data, identify trends and corrective actions needed to improve data quality
Desirable
  • Experience of delivering de-risking projects
  • A Pensions Management Institute (APMI) Qualification
  • A project management qualification (e.g. Prince 2) would be an advantage
  • In-Depth knowledge of UK DC Pension Schemes, including pension scheme data requirements
