Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Medicine Team at Wythenshawe Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.Previous NHS experience is essential.

We are seeking experienced clinicians to join our senior rota at Junior Registrar levelwho can manage adult and paediatric emergency presentations with a high degree of clinical autonomy. Applicants must have NHS experience and be confident in the assessment and management of critically ill and injured patients. Successful candidates will be expected to undertake middle-grade responsibilities, supervise junior colleagues, and contribute to departmental leadership and patient flow.

We are looking for motivated clinicians with a proven track record of delivering high-quality emergency care within the NHS and who demonstrate the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours expected of a senior Emergency Medicine doctor.

You will be working in one of Greater Manchester's busiest hospitals, where over 100,000 patients are assessed in the Emergency Department each year. Our state-of-the-art department includes a Paediatric Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre, Resuscitation Area and Same Day Emergency Care Unit providing front-door medical and respiratory assessment.

The post offers excellent opportunities to develop specialist interests. Regular simulation sessions, ultrasound training and dedicated consultant-led shop floor teaching are integral parts of the educational programme.

Main duties of the job

Due to the short-term nature of the role, the successful candidate must hold a current registration with the GMC at the time of application, whether it be an active licence, ceased licence or a pending application -MFT cannot support GMC Sponsorship for vacancies less than 12 months fixed term. Candidates who do not fit this criteria will not progress through to the shortlisting stage.

Please note: MFT is not a right to work sponsoring organisation for Tier 5. Should a candidate require Tier 5 sponsorship, they must apply through the Academy of Royal College via the MTI Scheme.

The post holders will be expected to provide exceptional patient care whilst benefitting from an bespoke training programme and quality improvement activities.
