Person specification

Education & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Medical Degree
  • Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Previous Emergency Medicine experience at junior grade level in the UK


Desirable criteria
  • Academic experience - research and/ or teaching
  • Experience in Anaesthesia / Critical Care
  • Membership of MRCEM


Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completed Foundation training or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Emergency Medicine


Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills
  • Evidence of organisational skills
  • Workload management skills


Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of leadership skills


Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and evidence of basic understanding of Acute presentations to ED
  • Portfolio of evidence for the Emergency Department - demonstrating excellent clinical skills
  • Advanced life support course

  • Commitment to own professional development
  • Research and development / audit work
