The project
ISG is set to t ransform an existing office building in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets into a new state-of-the-art life science and technology hub. Approved plans involve the complete retrofit, refurbishment and extension of a vacant office building, providing approximately 200,000 square feet of new laboratory and office space to suit a range of occupiers.
Role purpose
To deliver a quality service and product to our clients in line with the project goals by working with the project team and applying ISG culture, systems and procedures. Specifically, to manage the building services engineering design/installation process and facades, and to minimise risks associated with this to the project and to the company.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for delivery and quality in line with customer and company expectations
- Co-ordinate the works of the site team including sub-contractors/trades and external supply chain
- Implement and maintain quality assurance methods/standards to assure delivery of projects
- Implement and maintain H, S, Q & E procedures from pre-start to project completion to ensure full compliance with all company HSQE standards, policies, processes, ISO accreditations and legislative requirements
- Ensure all programmes, plans, method statements and risk assessments are robust, up to date, understood and implemented.
- Be aware of and ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Ensure that all site records are kept up to date in line with company and legislative requirements.
- Develop and maintain close relationships with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sub- contractors and supply chain
- Manage budgets and financial status with the QS.
- Identify and escalate any potential issues .
Skills & experience
- Facades package knowledge
- Management experience in construction industry working on commercial office projects of £20m+
- Previous experience of successfully carrying out a similar role to a high quality
- General knowledge of contracts
- Key communication skills necessary to maintain client relationships
- Key skills in project planning and time management and effective communication to manage site-based project personnel
- Experience in running and recording effective meetings with a range of key stakeholders, internal and external
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Fully conversant with CDM and all relevant Health & Safety legislation and previous experience of successful implementation on a major project
- In addition to general knowledge of common building and service trade, has greater in-depth knowledge and expertise in some specific areas e.g. joinery, cable wall systems, security
