Job description
More and more people are choosing to learn English.
When they do, they become part of an international community of English language learners. We are proud to be at that community's heart.
Our learning materials are trusted by millions of teachers, educational institutions, parents, and learners worldwide. They can teach and learn on their own terms, make progress, and achieve their goals.
Together, we move English language learning forward.
About the Role We're looking for a creative and organised Marketing Executive to join our ELT Marketing team, helping to grow and engage our global community of educators. This new role combines social media and community marketing with media production support, giving you the opportunity to create engaging, platform-native content, manage educator-facing channels, and contribute to integrated marketing campaigns that strengthen Oxford University Press's brand presence. Working closely with colleagues across Marketing, you'll help deliver high-quality content that connects with teachers and supports key business objectives.
You'll be responsible for planning, creating, scheduling and publishing content across teacher-focused social media channels, maintaining an effective editorial calendar and ensuring content is delivered accurately and on time. You'll actively engage with the educator community, monitoring feedback, identifying emerging trends, and using insights to optimise content and audience engagement. The role also supports in-house media production activities, including basic video editing, content preparation and coordination for initiatives such as the Talking ELT podcast.
We're looking for someone with strong communication and organisational skills, a passion for digital content and social media, and an interest in building online communities. You'll be comfortable working with performance data to inform decision-making, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders to deliver successful marketing activity. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your marketing and content production expertise within a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to supporting educators around the world.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office, however due to the responsibility this role has in supporting in-house media production activities, we expect the successful candidate to be in the office at least 3 days a week.
Essential:
- Previous demonstrable experience, or a professional qualification in marketing, digital communications, or a related field.
- A good understanding of social media platforms (including their algorithms, best practices, and audience behaviours).
- Excellent communication and content creation skills, including copy-writing, basic graphic design (e.g. Canva), and short-form video editing.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, able to work cross-functionally and contribute to wider marketing and community goals.
- Strong organisational skills, flexibility, results oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Empathy, curiosity and awareness of audience needs, with a genuine interest in supporting and engaging the ELT educator community.
- Confidence filming content and working with basic video production equipment.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of ELT teaching methods and digital trends in the ELT education sector.
- Basic working knowledge of the Adobe suite. In particular, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder & Photoshop.
- Experience supporting or working within a studio or media production environment.
This advert may close earlier than the stated deadline, so please apply as soon as possible.
