Context: We have policies and processes that enhance diversity and embed inclusion throughout the whole employee lifecycle at OUP.

Connect: We collaborate with diverse colleagues, partners, and authors to help create innovative content and solutions.

Diversity and inclusion committees and networks:

We have diversity and inclusion committees and local networks led by passionate employees in many of our offices, including the UK, USA, South Africa, India, Brazil, Spain, Hong Kong, Mexico, Malaysia, Canada, Kenya, Japan, Argentina, and Pakistan. They support our ambitions by organizing events, raising awareness of diversity and inclusion issues, contributing to new programmes and activities, and helping to embed best practice.  

We also have several committees focused on specific areas:

  • Our Recruitment & Retention Committee helps to support us in recruiting and retaining the best talent.
  • Our Editorial & Promotion Committee supports diversity and inclusion among our authors and readers, by identifying ways to improve representation within our publishing activities.
  • Our Event Planning Committee plans and runs internal events around different aspects of diversity and inclusion.
  • We also have a series of employee-led diversity and inclusion networks, including our Women’s Network, BAME Network, LGBTQ+ Network, and our Befriender Network.
