Good financial management helps ensure essential housing support services can continue to support people across Newport.
We're looking for an organised and detail-focused Finance, Monitoring and Administration Support Officer to support the management of the Housing Support Grant programme. This is an opportunity to apply your financial and administrative skills in a role that combines finance, monitoring, analysis and compliance within a service that supports vulnerable residents across the city.
The Opportunity
As Finance, Monitoring and Administration Support Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the financial monitoring and administration of Housing Support Grant funded services.
Working closely with colleagues and commissioned providers, you'll help ensure financial information is accurate, payments are processed correctly and funding requirements are met. You'll also contribute to monitoring performance, producing management information and supporting continuous improvement across the service.
In this role, you'll:
- Support the financial management and monitoring of Housing Support Grant funded services.
- Process, verify and reconcile financial information, invoices and payments.
- Produce performance information, financial reports and monitoring data.
- Support budget monitoring, financial claims and audit requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to commissioned providers on financial processes and documentation.
- Help develop and improve systems, procedures and ways of working.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with financial administration, accounting or monitoring experience who enjoys working with data, systems and detailed information.
You'll be highly organised, numerate and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. You'll also be confident communicating with colleagues and external partners, providing advice and supporting effective financial processes.
Experience within local government, housing, the public sector, charities or other regulated environments would be beneficial, but we welcome applications from candidates with transferable finance and administration experience.
