Renewables Finance Manager

About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

SSE Renewables is part of SSE plc, the UK-listed integrated energy group which is investing£20.5bnto deliver a Net Zero Acceleration Programme to address climate change head on.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the Renewables Financial Control team. You will be responsible for all financial control aspects of the Solar & Battery portfolio including, delivery of month-end general ledger close, key account reconciliations, delivery of reporting information to the commercial finance team and external statutory financial reporting. You will lead on annual statutory audits liaising with external auditors. The role will involve working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, focusing on establishing best practice in reporting and processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Overseeing all aspects of the month end process, including reviewing and posting journals as necessary also the preparation and delivery of accurate reporting information to the business partnering team.

- Managing and coaching the finance analyst(s).

- Owning the year end and half year process including the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts and audit papers as required.

- Overseeing compliance with the Group financial controls policies including balance sheet reconciliations.

- Continual review of processes and procedures to ensure that the financial control requirements are met.

- Supporting Corporate Finance teams with M&A transactions.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Ideal for a fully qualified accountant with either practice or industry experience.

- Ability to develop, motivate and lead a team.

- Good working knowledge of current IFRS, FRS, 101.

- Strong analytical skills with ability to research, understand and resolve a wide range of finance issues and the ability to manage competing deadlines and deliverables along with multiple projects/processes.

- Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures.
