What you'll do

In the role of Clothing Technologist working in our Womenswear team, you will be accountable for managing the product development and delivery of Sainsbury's Clothing product plans, ensuring quality, safety, and legality in line with customer expectations. Collaborating with various stakeholders such as suppliers, designers, buyers, merchandisers, and retail teams, you will oversee innovative product development, risk assessment, technical approvals, and adherence to critical timelines. Additionally, you will be responsible for resolving issues, managing stock, and continuously improving product quality and customer experience, while also supporting the implementation of corporate sustainability plans and upholding company values.

Who you are

You are a seasoned professional with a strong background in technical environments within the retail or manufacturing industry. Your commercial acumen, attention to detail, and ability to deliver under pressure in a fast-paced retail setting set you apart. With effective communication skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a customer-centric approach, you play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, safety, and legality of Sainsbury's Clothing products, while driving innovation and product development to meet customer expectations and enhance the overall customer experience.

Essential Criteria:
  • Experiencecoordinatingandmanagingfitsessions, ensuring effective planning, execution, and follow-up actions throughout the product development process.
  • Demonstrableexperiencemanagingthefitapprovalprocess, ensuring products meet agreed fit, quality, and customer requirements.
  • Experienceconductingriskassessments, identifying potential issues and implementing appropriate mitigation actions.
  • Technicalknowledgeofproductconstruction, with experience approving fit and build quality within a relevant product category.
  • Abilitytoanalysereturnsdataandcustomerfeedback, identifying trends and translating insights into product improvements.
  • Strongattentiontodetail, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout product development, fit, and approval processes.
