Social Mobility Network at DIO
Social mobility is about providing individuals with the opportunity to reach their full potential in terms of income and occupation irrespective of their background. Statistics show us that coming from a lower socio-economic background makes it much harder for talented people to be nurtured, recognised, and rewarded. The Social Mobility Commission tells us that those from better off backgrounds are almost 80% more likely to be in a professional job than their working-class peers, and that entry into professional occupations is still related to parental career. The DIO Social Mobility Network will strive to improve the way we attract, support and retain colleagues from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and enable them to perform at their best and have a great career within DIO. All DIO staff are encouraged to join our network and contribute their ideas and lived experience, helping us make DIO a great place to work.
