To celebrate International Women’s Day 2020, York St John University is delighted to be hosting scholar Sara Ahmed.

About this Event

International Women's Day: Workshop with Sara Ahmed

Diversity Work

In the middle section of Living a Feminist Life, I use 'diversity work' in two senses: diversity work as the work we do when we try to transform institutions; and diversity work as the work we do when we do not quite inhabit the norms of institutions. These senses often meet in a body: those who do not inhabit the norms of institutions are often given the task of transforming these norms. This session will be a discussion some of the issues and challenges we face, whether as students, administrators or academics, in doing diversity work (in both senses) in higher education.
