Children’s Mental Health Week 2026: Supporting Body Confidence in Kids

Parents & Carers

For Children’s Mental Health Week 2026, our Parent Network looked at body positivity and how today’s online world affects our children.

Gemini said The image shows two people engaged in a friendly conversation in a professional yet comfortable indoor setting. One person, seen from the back, has blonde hair and is wearing a colorful floral-patterned top. The other person is seated in a large, purple high-backed armchair, wearing glasses and a black top with a red-and-black checkered skirt. They are smiling warmly while holding a white teacup and saucer. The person in the chair also wears an ID badge on a lanyard, suggesting an office or community service environment. Both individuals appear to be enjoying a coffee or tea break together.

Guest speaker Samantha Pearce-Isaacs joined us for a webinar about how the images and content young people see online can shape the way they feel about their bodies, their confidence and their self-esteem.

She shared helpful tips on having open, honest conversations with children so they can build resilience and develop a healthy view of themselves.

The week also gave us the chance to introduce our Children’s Mental Health First Aiders. They have all completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid England Champions course and are trained to offer support and point working parents towards further help if they need it.

Parents were also invited to a drop-in session where they could share experiences and support one another.

In April, we’ll continue this support with Parent Week, which will include activities to help working parents feel less alone and build stronger connections.
