We are looking for a part time Young Persons Worker to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent.

Stoke-on-Trents Community Drug and Alcohol Service (CDAS), a partnership between With You and BAC OConnor, provides a free, confidential and friendly service to anyone experiencing challenges with drugs or alcohol. As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. Main duties of the job

As a Young Persons Worker, you'll be supporting a caseload of young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse. You'll work with them to access their needs, develop care plans, deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed.

Our Young Persons Worker teams offer vital support, training, and education to young people in their locality. They work with other agencies and professionals to safeguard their young clients, working with their families too where appropriate. The work can be challenging but it's always rewarding and at With You, you'll be part of an amazing team making a real difference to people's lives.

You'll also be proactively engaging with young people to provide them with the support, training, education and guidance they need to better understand the implication of the situations they may face and the decision they may take.

As a Young Persons Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250 per year pro rata, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per year pro rata. For further details please reach out to a member of the recruitment team via [email protected].

The role is part time and permanent working 22.5 hours per week. A driving license and access to a vehicle is an essential requirement for this position.

• To be able to do this job successfully, you will have:
• OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months
• experience of managing a caseload of young people with complex needs
• sound knowledge of safeguarding and the ability to put safeguarding processes into practice
• evidence of multi-agency working
• evidence of continuous professional development
• excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• the ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing your skills knowledge and experience
• good organisational skills to be able to manage your time effectively, prioritising your work and being able to cope with the pressure of competing demands
• the ability to record and maintain accurate case details and in a timely manner
• effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media
• a driving license and access to a vehicle
