Hiscox UK is looking for a marketing leader to join its high-growth UK retail business.
You will be strategic and results driven, with a passion for marketing and a deep understanding of consumers and the rapidly evolving digital marketing arena, growth driving levers and how to maximise our media spend.
You will be responsible for the development and execution of the UK Marketing strategy designed to:
Drive business growth from new customers and our active customer base; ensuring increasing efficiency of marketing spend through improving customer LTV
Develop and execute communication programmes to strengthen Hiscox brand equity and reputation in the UK
Build and deliver the capability required to deliver 'digital-first' marketing communication programmes and customer experiences
Be the voice of the consumer within the UK business; influencing strategic decisions on product, proposition, communications and service
This role reports to the UK Distribution Director, and combines resources from the UK marketing team along with Group capabilities to achieve the UK business and marketing objectives.
What you'll be doing
Leadership and development of the UK Marketing team and its capabilities; championing the Hiscox values and the development of individual team members to maximise performance and achieve their professional goals
Develop the marketing plan to achieve commercial business goals through the:
Identification and prioritization of target customer segments
Alignment of right marketing mix for each target segment to efficiently attract, convert and retain customers
Lead development of market-leading brand, propositions and customer relationship management to achieve sustainable competitive advantages
Ownership of the marketing budget ensuring the spend is optimised and enhanced to drive exceptional growth
Set key performance measures to ensure plans deliver against agreed objectives; evolve plans in response to insights gained
Ensure all consumer-facing content builds brand equity metrics and enhances the outstanding reputation of the Hiscox brand
Provide leadership and establish best-practice in these key areas:
Management of external creative and media agencies
Necessary martech, adtech and other capabilities to keep pace in a digital world
Insight and analytics
Marketing effectiveness measurement
Budget management and negotiation
Regulatory compliance and conduct
Collaborate with other Hiscox marketing leaders across the globe to identify opportunities efficiencies and sharing of best-practice
Person Specification: Our must haves
Strong inspirational leadership qualities with a demonstrable record in leading and developing teams
P&L understanding and ability to identify opportunities to drive profitable growth from key customer segments
Entrepreneurial drive combined with strong commercial instinct - brings a clear "outside in" view of digital trends and challenge across the business using commercial judgment
Able to set a strategic vision and take a helicopter view but the ability to dive into the detail and focus on what really matters
Skilled at developing relationships, with multiple stakeholders across different levels and areas of the business
Demonstrates the ability, determination and tenacity to move major initiatives forward, injecting pace and focus, while consistently thinking of the bottom-line impact
Marketing, customer acquisition, retention and brand development
Progressive performance marketeer with a track record of building high growth businesses through effective marketing strategies that embrace the rapidly developing digital arena
Consumer centric, and data driven, marketing approach with a strong track record of attracting and retaining customers in a B2C or B2B environment
Deep understanding of customer lifetime value and how to create it
Metrics driven: Uses the right KPIs to demonstrate the effectiveness of marketing spend and to drive effective commercial decisions - both short and long term
Proven history of developing impactful and effective marketing campaigns
Direct to consumer experience is highly preferable
