Reporting to the UK CEO and Global Head of Energy, this position will develop and execute the regional Product Line strategy in accordance with the global product strategy, underwriting framework and pricing guardrails. This role will have accountability for regional talent management and overall responsibility for the regional Product P&L.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop & execute the regional strategy in line with the Global Product Strategy
  • Responsible for regional product P&L " execute against growth and profitability goals and objectives, including managing and developing regional budgets in collaboration with Global Head of Product and CEO of region.
  • Work closely with pricing actuaries to assess opportunities and put framework in place to achieve optimal result for current and future products
  • Drive underwriting excellence across the Product Lines, in collaboration with the CUO, by establishing and ensuring adherence to risk appetite, line setting, standards and guidelines, and ensure rating and pricing adequacy.
  • Responsible for delegating underwriting authority in the region in accordance with the CUO framework and in collaboration with Global Technical Leads and/or CUO.
  • Identify and Recommend new markets, products, services and tools, as well as marketing distribution & Underwriting Strategies.
  • Oversee portfolio management to direct strategic underwriting decisions to ensure financial and underwriting objectives are achieved
  • Establish strong relationships with Regional leadership; create mutual understanding of overall specialty product strategy & distribution to drive effective execution of business model & drive collaborative behaviour with leadership team across the wider business.
  • Ensure a reputation of Claims excellence, Client Risk solutions & service delivery in the marketplace.
  • Develop tools and strategies, in collaboration with HR, to attract and retain top industry talent and develop high performing teams.
  • People management to include; Training and Development plans, and responsible for continuous development of staff
  • Drive a culture that promotes collaboration, diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and compliance processes and ensure AIG stakeholders

Leadership Skills:
  • Proven people management and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies.
  • Ability to manage and influence in a matrix structure and across a wide geography.

Technical Skills and Expertise:
  • Extensive insurance leadership experience, including oversight over multiple products and geographies.
  • Understands the Energy business model, underwriting methodology, and the risks we assume.
  • Deep expertise in the above mentioned specialty lines, expert technical underwriting background
  • Knowledge of market segmentation, portfolio management, acquisition and distribution
  • Proven Strategic Leadership skills in developing vision and purpose, driving for results and leading effective teams
  • Established strong relationships with customers and intermediaries
  • Demonstrated business savvy, analytical and quantitative skills
