Whipps Cross University Hospital

Whipps Cross University Hospital, part of the Barts Health NHS Trust Group, is looking for a motivated Trust Doctor Foundation Year 1 doctor (or equivalent level) in Infectious Diseases (ID) on a 1-year fixed term contract, with option to extend.

Main duties of the job

This role provides an exciting opportunity to gain a breadth of clinical experience in managing complex infection and also general medicine, working in the varied and interesting ID ward at Whipps Cross Hospital.

Full GMC registration with licence to practice is essential and participation in quality improvement is an expectation of the role

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Must hold MBChB, MBBS or equivalent degree
• Must hold full GMC Registration with license to practice

Desirable criteria

• Current ALS certification

Experience

Essential criteria

• Must have knowledge of the NHS and demonstrate familiarity with NHS structures
• Must have general internal medicine (GIM) experience as a clinical rotation, clinical attachment or equivalent

Desirable criteria

• Infectious Diseases experience as a clinical rotation, clinical attachment or equivalent
• Evidence of participation in continual professional development
• Evidence of participation in clinical audit and/or quality improvement

Skills

Essential criteria

• Evidence of effective written communication skills in English.

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of multidisciplinary team working

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of problem solving skills
• Experience working under pressure
