An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a Trust Grade Registrar at Barts Health NHS Trust. Interested individuals are invited to apply for appointment to start as soon as possible.

The post will be based at Whipps Cross University Hospital and while this is a non-training post, the successful candidate will work across the full range of specialist clinics and theatres and will be invited to take part in all the educational opportunities the department has to offer. There may be an opportunity to develop specialist interests including completion of SITMs if eligible.

Successful candidates will be encouraged to participate in teaching, research, audit and journal club. In line with our commitment to improving the working lives of our junior doctors, the duties and hours are fully compliant with the New Deal initiative.

Individuals will require full GMC Registration and should at least be post MRCOG part 2. These posts are aimed at UK or Overseas trainee obstetricians at ST5+ level or above, and for EU trained individuals with the appropriate level of clinical experience. The successful applicant would join a 16-person middle grade rota.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential criteria

• MBBS or equivalent
• MRCOG Part 2
• Full GMC registration with license to practise

Desirable criteria

• MRCOG Part 3

Experience

Essential criteria

• Able to work first on call on Labour ward independently

Desirable criteria

• Experience in the UK as a registrar
• Previous Audit / Research/ Teaching experience

Skills

Essential criteria

• Able to work within a multidisciplinary team
• Good communication skills

Desirable criteria

• Able to perform instrumental deliveries competently
• Complex C Section (I.e. fully dilated)

• To take up post as soon as possible
