Job title: Registry Administrator (Enrolment and Student Records)
Reports to: Senior Registry Officer (Enrolment and Student Records)

Main purpose of the job: To provide efficient, effective, accurate and responsive administrative support for enrolment and student
records activities within the Registry, delivering high levels of customer service to students, staff and external
stakeholders. The Registry Administrator (Enrolment and Student Records) will support the operational delivery
of student registration and enrolment processes, maintain the accuracy of the student record, and respond to
enquiries relating to student records and enrolment. The role requires a flexible approach to supporting
Registry activities, particularly during peak operational periods.
Main duties and responsibilities: 1. To support the operational delivery of student registration and enrolment processes, including assisting
with in-person enrolment activities during peak registration periods, which may require attendance on
campus each day during these periods
2. To maintain electronic student records relating to student registration, assessment and awards
ensuring data is entered and updated accurately and completely in accordance with established
procedures, and to file and archive paper student records as required
3. To respond to enquiries from staff and students regarding enrolment processes and student records,
providing accurate guidance and referring complex issues where appropriate
4. To support the set-up and maintenance of programme, module and student data within the student
records system, including module allocation and bulk record transfers where required
5. To produce routine data integrity reports and correct identified errors in accordance with established
procedures
6. To check the accuracy of data imported into the student records system and report and discrepancies
in accordance with established procedures
7. To work in close collaboration with Academic Schools / Faculties, and other relevant departments to
support the accuracy and completeness of the student record
8. To provide administrative support to the Exams and Assessment function and other Registry activities
during peak operational periods where required, which may include assisting with examination and
assessment administration and invigilation, in order to maintain continuity of service delivery
9. To gather and provide information or data as requested by the Senior Registry Officer (Enrolment and
Student Records) and/or Deputy Academic Registrar to support operational activities and reporting
10. To undertake any other requirements commensurate with the seniority of the post, as required by the Deputy Academic Registrar or Registrar

Essential • Minimum requirement is three A levels or equivalent professional
experience

• The role will require a service-orientated approach • Computer literacy in MS Office applications including Word, Excel,
Outlook and a willingness to learn and use new software programmes
• An ability to work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues within the Department and from different areas of the University
• An ability to organise workload efficiently and prioritise between tasks to ensure deadlines are met, and work under pressure
• An understanding of the student-related academic cycle in higher education and related administrative processes
• The role will require solving standard day to day queries as they arise e.g. an enquiry from students
• An ability to pay excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• The role holder will have a flexible approach to work and be able to prioritise a busy workload accordingly

• An ability to build and maintain relationships with external agencies and stakeholders
• Experience working with student record systems or comparable administrative databases
Work experience Essential
• Experience of data entry, in addition to using databases to interpret, collate and disseminate data
Desirable • Previous experience working in a similar role in the HE sector

• The role will require excellent verbal communication skills to be able to give clear and concise advice and guidance to students, colleagues within the University and external organisations both face to face and over the telephone
• Written communication skills to prepare emails, letters and contribute to reports
Other requirements Essential • The role holder will regularly be required to input, export and
manipulate large amounts of data
Additional Information • The University operates service-led hybrid working arrangements which may allow for 3 days in the
office and 2 days working from home although peak times might require flexibility and any hybrid arrangement will be determined by the service and in agreement with the line manager.
