Job summarySUPPORT MEDICAL SECRETARY - PAIN MANAGEMENTPERMANENT PART TIME - 18 HOURS PER WEEKWe are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support Medical Secretary to provide administrative and typing duties within the Pain Management Department. You should have a meticulous approach to work and excellent communication skills to support our team of existing Medical Secretarial and administrative team.
Main duties of the jobTo provide a support medical secretarial service within the Directorate. To undertake accurate audio/copy typing of medical correspondence and general administration for the Consultants and their teams. This will include highly sensitive and complex medical terminology with a need for confidentiality.
Dealing with enquiries from the patients/relatives, general practitioners and individual departments . Reassuring patients (carers/relatives if appropriate) waiting for appointments, test results and commencement of treatment. Assessing priorities, making and re-arranging appointments or passing messages on to the Medical Team for further attention.
General admin duties including photocopying, filing, bring forward system for investigation filing system, answering the telephone and other office duties, including the requisition and maintenance of adequate stationery stocks.
