ABOUT THE ROLE

The IT Enterprise Services team are offering an exciting opportunity for an IT ServiceNow Developer to join the team to research and develop:
  • Developing a new intranet/communications hub
  • Mobile application
  • Artificial Intelligence (ChatGPT)
  • Building custom applications

You'll be using the IT Service Management tool, ServiceNow®, which is central to providing departments with a way to manage incidents and requests (cases) and developing ways to provide multi-channel support to staff, students and externals.

This placement will be split into segments across the year to allow you to gain wider experience across the team and their various projects.

The Placement starting month is July 2024, however applications will be accepted for those wishing to start in August or September.

Daily Task overview
  • Working with the Enterprise Services team to scope, design and develop web-based solutions, creating and maintaining all required documentation.
  • Developing the ServiceNow Mobile application to provide an on-the-move connection for ticket management and case approvals.
  • Developing the use of Artificial Intelligence across the, using enquiry and interaction data to prioritise areas of development, and producing reports to communicate potential to a non-technical audience.
  • Researching and analysing the latest developments in ServiceNow and the wider sector, to present possible new solutions to the team.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with all colleagues, visitors and external contacts.
  • Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role.

Candidate profile

Students who are following a Computer Science or Web Development course of study will find this placement aligned to their learning. You will be a self-starter, keen to learn new skills and undertake new opportunities. While the role is primarily a technical, hands-on role it will include IT theory, process and planning techniques.
