About the Opportunity

We are in search of a dynamic and versatile Solution Architect with specialized expertise in the water, transportation or major programme sectors. The ideal candidate will have the unique skill to seamlessly integrate business architecture with technical solutions, playing a critical role in crafting innovative solutions for our clients. This position is essential for spearheading client engagements during the initial phases of problem identification and solution formulation, demanding a professional who can swiftly gain the trust of clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead client engagements in the initial stages, focusing on comprehending and defining challenges and formulating solutions within the water or transportation sectors.
• Work in close collaboration with business architects and technical architects, acting as a conduit between in-depth domain knowledge and technical solution design.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with clients, quickly establishing trust and a deep understanding of their unique challenges and requirements.
• Propel the conception and design of data and software solutions, utilizing a broad knowledge of business architecture and technical technologies.
• Direct and shape the solution development process, ensuring it aligns with client needs and strategic goals, while entrusting the team to execute through agile methodologies.
• Remain up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in the water or transportation sectors, as well as advancements in data and software solution technologies.
• Contribute to the growth of an emerging management consultancy practice focused on enterprise data architecture and digital transformation.

Hybrid working model, with a minimum of 50% time spent in Jacobs offices or client locations.

Here's What You'll Need:

• Demonstrated experience as a Solution Architect, with deep domain expertise in the water or transportation sectors.
• Practical and pragmatic approach, adept at bridging the gap between business architecture and technical solution design.
• Strong client engagement skills, proven ability to rapidly build trust and understanding with clients and business stakeholders.
• Capability to work autonomously and unsupervised, including integration within client teams.
• A genuine passion for data and software solutions, with a talent for conceptualizing and designing innovative solutions.
• Knowledgeable in a variety of business architecture and technical technologies and workflows, without needing to be an expert in either.
• A collaborative team player, keen on identifying opportunities for cross-selling consulting and solution development services.
