We are recruiting a Social Worker at Caerphilly County Borough Council.Working hours: 37

Team: Promoting Independence Physical Disability and Sensory Impairment Team/ Learning Disability Team
This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organisation.
We pay an attractive salary of £40,444- £43,149 and offer access to training and development opportunities.The teams are dynamic and forward thinking and the successful candidate will be required to practice in accordance with National Occupational Standards for Social Work and Code of Practice for Social Care Workers to deliver assessment and care management services.
You will need to have a good understanding of current legislation and policy. You will be required to work closely with carers, other professionals and team members or alone using your own initiative. You will take part in a duty rota dealing with crisis situations and you will facilitate safe discharge for service users from hospital into the community. You will be required to support and safeguard vulnerable service users through difficult periods in their lives, therefore effective communication and organizational skills are essential.
For the role, we ask that you have: - A Diploma / Degree in Social Work or predecessor qualification.
- An understanding of the Learning, physical and emotional needs of Vulnerable Adults including older people and younger people with Physical disabilities and sensory impairment/ Learning disabilities.
- A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to attend meetings, visit clients.

Appointment to this post is subject to the successful candidate holding and maintaining registration with
Social Care Wales as a
Social Care Worker in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
You must possess a Diploma/Degree in Social Work or predecessor and be registered as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales (or able to transfer from another recognised body).
The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
