An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our countywide Safeguarding Adults Short Term (SAST) Team, a specialist Adult Safeguarding service working with adults who may be experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect. The Adult Safeguarding Team provides a high-quality professional assessment, advice & support service to individuals & groups who are referred due to risk of abuse or neglect.

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Social Worker who is passionate about safeguarding adults and improving outcomes.

Applications are welcomed from:

• Experienced Social Workers.
• Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs).
• Social Workers who have recently completed, or are nearing completion of, their ASYE.

As a Social Worker within the Adult Safeguarding Team, you will manage a caseload of safeguarding enquiries and interventions, working with adults who may be experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect. While caseloads will be allocated geographically where possible, the role requires countywide working to meet service demand.

You will undertake safeguarding enquiries, assess and manage risk, develop safeguarding plans and work collaboratively with adults, carers, families and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes. The role also includes participation in the team's duty rota, responding to new safeguarding concerns and screening referrals in line with the West Midlands Adult Safeguarding Procedures.

Adult Safeguarding is a challenging but rewarding area of practice, offering opportunities to develop expertise in risk management, professional curiosity, multi-agency working and complex decision-making. We are looking for resilient, motivated practitioners who are committed to strengths-based practice and the principles of Making Safeguarding Personal.

Your normal place of work will be Warwick or Bedworth. You may also be required to work at other locations as reasonably necessary for the proper performance of your duties.

About the Team

The SAST Team undertakes safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014 and works closely with health services, police, care providers, advocacy services, housing and voluntary organisations to achieve positive outcomes for adults.

We are a supportive, experienced and collaborative team that values reflective practice, professional development and continuous learning. We are committed to Making Safeguarding Personal and ensuring adults remain at the centre of decision-making.

The team includes Social Workers, Administrative Support Officers, Team Managers and a Senior Manager. Many of our Social Workers and managers have extensive safeguarding experience and have been part of the team for several years, creating a supportive environment where knowledge, expertise and good practice are shared.

Support for Newly Qualified Social Workers

We are committed to helping Newly Qualified Social Workers build their confidence and skills through:

• Regular supervision and mentoring.
• A structured Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.
• Protected learning and development opportunities.
• Specialist safeguarding training.
• Reflective practice and peer learning.

Key Requirements

• Applicants must hold a professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or Certificate of Qualification in Social Work (CQSW)).
• Social Work England registration, or eligibility for registration upon appointment.
• Applications are welcomed from Newly Qualified Social Workers and experienced practitioners.
• Commitment to strengths-based practice and Making Safeguarding Personal.
• Strong assessment, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
• Mobility is essential. Able-bodied applicants must be able to drive, hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Disabled applicants should be able to perform the role with aid, where necessary.
